VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Clerical: We are always in need of people who can help answer phones, greet guests, and provide basic clerical duties for the organization.
Available hours 8:00am - 2:00pm.
Community Kitchen: Group opportunities are limited for help in the Community Kitchen. We are looking for help on the third and fourth Thursday and the fourth and fifth Wednesday from 8am - 12pm. Please call for any available days so this can be scheduled. Too many people in the kitchen is just like at home… confusing! We are also looking for people to help do a deep clean in the kitchen twice a month (in the afteroon or evening).
Food Pantry Distribution: Available hours 8:00am – 1:00pm.
Warehouse: Available hours vary Monday – Friday between 8am – 4pm; Saturday 8am - 2pm. Help sort incoming donations to locations within the warehouse and/or Food Pantry. Opportunities to assist with food pickup from local food partners. Please call before coming to make sure help is needed; we also post special requests for volunteers on our website and Facebook.
Campus Beautification Project: We are looking for people with green thumbs to help keep our landscape clean and beautiful. Please let us know if you can assist.
Education Partnerships through STEP Job Readiness Boot Camp: RCS offers a limited number of classes in our building through Craven Community College. Students can benefit from additional tutors. Call for more information; spots are limited for this opportunity.
Annual Events: We have a variety of events held throughout the year. These events require teams of people to ensure success. Check our Events Page for upcoming dates so you can get on board. These are always fun and very rewarding.
Shelter Dinners: Prepare a dinner off-site (or bring in take-out) for Shelter guests. Due to COVID restrictions, this is a drop and go service. Meals start at 6:00pm. Please call for more information about this opportunity.
