how to use RSS
This is a PICTURE of the symbol for RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication.
That's just a fancy way of saying that you can get "Feeds" for this website delivered right to your mailbox or favorite reader. You have seen Feeds before even if you didn't realize it. Think of the news that streams along the bottom of the television screen when there is important news or severe weather that the station wants to keep you informed of without interrupting your program. That is a "feed". A continuous stream of updates.
A "Feed Reader" is very much like a mailbox where all the things you want to read, get delivered to you as soon as they are updated. But instead of you giving out your email address or having to bookmark all the things you want to read, they are delivered to you in one very convenient place.
Feed Readers are FREE and available through most ISP's and email providers like Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc. When you click the RSS icon, it will take you to a page where you can select where you want your updates to go. If you don't already have a "Feed Reader" setup, don't worry. When you choose the type of reader (for example Google), you will be redirected to a page where you can enter your account information OR setup a new account.
If you prefer to get your updates by email, just enter your email address in the space provided (above where you see the mail icon) and click subscribe.
You can also get just the comments updates. This works the same way as the RSS button.
What are you waiting for? Give it a try! Even if you don't want to use it, you'll at least know what it is when you see that symbol everywhere online.

Things that make you smile...
How long has it been since you saw a lemonade stand on the side of the road somewhere? I don’t mean the kind that vendors run, I’m talking about the one that some boy or girl in your neighborhood sets up to try out their “entrepreneurial” skills for the first time… the kind that makes you smile when you see it.
Last Friday afternoon a local couple accompanied by their grandson stopped by RCS for a little visit and so that the couple’s grandson could tell us a story.
We were not only entertained by their grandson’s story, we were inspired. And we thought you’d like this story too! So here it is.
10-year old Kirian does not live in this area, he came here to visit his grandparents. One day, Kirian decided he would set up his own lemonade stand. So why does a 10-year old boy on vacation set up a lemonade stand?? For Kirian it was simple. He had overheard his grandparents talking about the financial difficulty that RCS was having and decided that he needed to do something to lend a helping hand to RCS. So Kirian started selling lemonade and cinnamon buns from a lemonade stand in front of his grandparent’s house.
By this point in his story, we were already impressed not only by Kirian’s entrepreneurial spirit, but also by his compassion and willingness to help others. Then Kirian told us that he raised $70.00 DOLLARS! And were we surprised?? OH YES!! And POSITIVELY DELIGHTED!!
Kirian, we think you’re just plain wonderful! THANK YOU!

Proud to say we know Kirian and just as proud of him. What a thoughtful young man, and an example. For someone that young, he will be a caring person and will reach out to help in the future. Loved reading the story and know that his grandparents have set a wonderful example
